Springfieldop General Chapter Statement

 I thought the Dominican Institute for the Arts members might find some inspiration in the General Chapter Statement just adopted by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois.  The Springfield Dominicans are energized and inspired by this collective wisdom about the unfolding of evolutionary consciousness, and thought you might be too!

Poetry Alive Festival

Since our regular deadline (Feb. 15)  is fast approaching, we've extended our regular deadline to March 3rd.  As you well know December and early-to-mid-January things are pretty much in hibernation mode in general.  So, I figured that we needed to extend our regular deadline to give folks, especially students, time to submit works.  The early deadline still holds at February 1st, in which entrants are charged 50 percent less in fees.    

Attached is a revised flyer.  I'll send you the poetry film flyer in another email, as both files may be too large for our serve to handle.  [To find flyers go to www.poetryalive.org as files are too big to place here]

I was informed today of the death of John Gerlach OP. John was a member of DIA. He died in Dubuque Iowa in late November. He had been at our 2002 gathering. Let us pray for our Dominican Family as the Saints gather in a great multitude under Mary's Mantle.  May he rest in peace with Catherine and Dominic.

 

 

 

I am most grateful for all the messages of condolence upon the death of Sister Ginny Maguire. It has been a great comfort to her friends, leadership of my Congregation and her family.
